No-Code Supply Co.
No-Code Supply Co.
Brief
No-Code Supply Co. is a personal side project I branded and built as a resource for helping people explore what’s possible with no-code tools. It’s a vast directory with a variety of inspiring websites, useful apps, delightful code snippets, and much more.
My Roles
Problem
In 2018, I started collecting inspiring sites built in Webflow, resources and code snippets I discovered along the way of advocating for the power and value Webflow can bring to businesses. Years later, with over 1,000 items in a Notion database I was eager to get them indexed for others in the community to discover and possibly benefit from.
Solution
Not only did I want to get all of the content organized and live on the web, but I also wanted to ensure I built things in a way they could be easily maintained into the future. Using the power combo of Webflow and Airtable, I built a highly automated, easily iterated, top quality directory along with a roadmap to continue adding more features to it going forward.
Content-first
My absolute preferred way to work is with a content-first approach, which prioritizes content strategy, outline and organization before the majority of other work begins. I started this with the directory data itself, spending any spare time I had over a few months cleaning up the data and migrating it to Airtable. From there, I started collaborating with a friend and colleague, Max Lind, to define a strategy around how everything would be positioned on the final size and in marketing it after launch.
Brand to build
Leveraging the full depth of my skills, from early brand identity designs, to the website design and custom Webflow development, to the large and strategically automated database in Airtable that is essential to allowing us to easily continue curating NCSC everyday.
Optimized to browse and search
After a few rounds of research, inspiration gathering, and mockup iterations I landed on an overall design that is intended to be simple, but interesting enough that it encourages free browsing, well a filter/search experience that is intuitive, streamlined and efficient to help people find what they are looking for quickly.
Automate all the things
Both Max and I are parents and balance a full-time job and occasional side gigs, so from the moment we began work on NCSC, we set the goal to ensure every aspect of curation and content creation could be as automated and efficient as possible. Some of the most powerful tools that allow us to accomplish this are Airtable automations, scripting, web clipper, and event the mobile app for curating on the go!
Mast
Mast is a lightweight, developer-first framework of essential classes and strategies to help you build efficiently for any brand and scale. It was the first product we launched under the No-Code Supply Co. brand and is a framework that is an evolution of the way I have built in Webflow and front-end development over the course of my career. We defined a name and marketing strategy, user tested the style guide, wrote (and re-wrote) all of the documentation, in order to official launch what we feel is one of the best ways to develop in Webflow.
